For the menswear store at GINZA SIX in Tokyo, we created an “architectural striptease”: A warehouse caught between construction and demolition that frames Off-White’s luxurious garments through random openings in the walls.
It was fun to repurpose construction off-the-shelf materials as luxury store fixtures like rebar shelves, branded-brick display cases, and welded-wire carpeting. According to Abloh, his architectural background is rendered here in its purest form. He calls it “warehouse surrealism,” and elements like the branded bricks continue to be used in new activations. The store facade exposes the truth behind the luxurious veneer of the mall’s walls.
Like Off-White’s clothes, this store uses hyperbole and humor to create a visual that passersby both admire and question.

An industrial depot in the process of evolution.
The collage-like use of standard construction materials generates an atmosphere of roughness, immediacy and imagination.
A transformational ‘inside/outside visual experience that reflects the imaginative and ever-changing qualities of the Off-White brand identity.
