STELLAE INTERNATIONAL HEADQUARTERS, MELVILLE, NY

TYPOLOGY: Corporate Headquarters and Light Manufacturing
SCOPE: Two New Warehouses Buildings and Interior Renovation of Existing Building
SIZE: 250,000 sq. ft Building on 12.85 Acre Development
CLIENT: Stellae International Inc. USA Corporate Headquarters
Stellae International Inc. is a logistics and distribution company specializing in high-end European fashion and accessories.
The project consists of two new warehouse buildings at approximately 50,000 square feet each that flank an existing two-story 156,000 square foot office building.
The existing office building is preserved and converted to warehouse space, production zones, offices, and recreational areas for the employees which includes an interior garden. Accent colors on walls, floors and columns differentiate the various open workspaces within the building.
The entire complex is connected via breeze ways and courtyards that provide natural light and fresh air to the warehouses and office space. The site is equipped with a sub-surface environmental remediation system to mitigate the impact of pollutants in the soil left behind by previous manufacturing activities on the site, effectively restoring the land.
The two new pre-engineered steel warehouse buildings are clad in well-insulated aluminum panels and polycarbonate glazing that dramatically reduce the need for artificial lighting, heating and cooling equipment. The angled geometry of the front façades provides a canopy at the top and seating below which becomes an entry portal underscored by the bright red façade. The polycarbonate facade glows at night and provides ample natural light for workers during the day.
